Fraenck x Zwolle
Beautiful tote bags
Sail manufacturer Buitink Technology, specialized in advanced lightweight constructions, was commissioned by the municipality of Zwolle to create a canopy for the bus terminal at Zwolle Central Station. And not just any canopy. The print on the roof was designed by local Zwolle artists, using the city as inspiration. And it shows!
Cutting waste
The canopy measures 13 by 70 meters. Fraenck used the testing model and the cutting waste te create a beautiful collection of tote bags, which were in part used to give to the artists. Because every bag uses a different part as the pattern, every bag is a unique item.
Collaboration
Buitink Technology is a company Fraenck collaborates with on a regular basis. Because this sail manufacturer often takes on large scale projects, many test prints and prototypes are made and the final product leaves a lot of cutting waste. These sturdy materials deserve a seconds chance. On this page about our collaboration you can read more.
